The Reverend Al Sharpton delivered a live radio address Saturday morning at his National Action Network headquarters in Harlem, to call for action following the full acquittals of the three detectives in the Sean Bell shooting.
Following Sharpton's rally, another group about 250 protesters marched through East Harlem between 125th Street to 145th.
"This is the first of many other civil disobediences that our organization, along with National Action and many others around the country, will come into the city until justice prevails," said Chairman Salaam Ismial of the National United Youth Council. "Young men have been dying at the hands of police officers too long in New York City."

DryerBuzz (y.lattimore) — In 2008, African Americans still largely represent America's labor pool. With every paycheck, Uncle Sam dips in and takes what he wants. Tax Refund or not, America gets a free no interest loan from the households of which its justice system and race construct seeks to oppress.
Economic justice through buying power is a farce and leaders should be ashamed to deliver their followers so blindly.
Buying power itself is a punch line while local, state, and federal taxes is the bottom line. The amount of taxes withheld from the system can be measured, unlike the modern day boycotts proposed in 2007/2008. Most importantly withholding taxes could cause an economic stimulus for businesses in our community, not to mention a stimulus for building a true infrastructure for which we could exist.
On top of that, withholding taxes would bring measured accountability of those who live off our tax dollars.
Our "leaders" should propose not a one day slow of the flow as in shopping, but a real economic barricade asking conscious Black America to slow the flow of their free loans to a system which oppresses. During a 30 day or let's say 2 month period this money should be redirected into personal savings, infrastructures, and institutions.
African Americans spend $60,000,0000 on an average Black movie opening weekend. There's no block buster this month, where will the money go?
